How Drug & Alcohol Safety Education Program can Help DWI Offenders?

DWI i.e. Driving While Intoxicated falls under the category of DUI (Driving Under Influence) offences. Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) is treated as a serious violation of law and is handled in a strict manner by law enforcement authorities all across the US. In fact, in many of the states DWI offenders might even lose their driving license. However, there is still hope for DWI offenders for recovering their driving privileges by undergoing a Drug & Alcohol Safety Education Program, formulated in conformity with the state legislature. The DWI courts put emphasis on reducing drunk-driving cases by treating alcoholism.

What Does Drug & Alcohol Safety Education Program Include?

The Drug & Alcohol safety Education Program is a course that provides education on number of topics relating to use of alcohol and drugs; how alcohol affects a driver’s ability to drive; how to find alcohol and drug use patterns etc. The objective is to educate the abusers about the harmful effects of driving under influence and helping them recover from their addiction so that they become fit to drive again. These programs generally include courtroom screenings of DWI offenders and classes on substance abuse and driver impairment. After completing the required classroom education, candidates get a state-approved Certificate of Completion which can help them to get their license reinstated.

From Where to Pursue this Program?

Different states in US have varied Drug & Alcohol Safety Education Programs with slightly different guidelines. For instance, Mississippi Alcohol Safety Education Program (MASEP) is Mississippi’s statewide driver improvement program, a court mandated initiative for first-time offenders. This program runs under the authority of the Mississippi Implied Consent Law. Some behavioral health care homes provide specialized Drug & Alcohol Safety Education Programs to increase the understanding of traffic safety and substance abuse.

Quapaw House is a licensed provider of Drug and Alcohol Safety Program (DASEP) that is approved by the Department of Human Services, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention, and Division of Behavioral Health Services. Quapaw House Inc. emphasizes to make quality services on alcohol and drug treatment available and also focuses on individualized services for special cases.
